Think of a prediction you or your family made recently (e.g. the outcome of a cricket match). Was it based on evidence and reasoning, or mainly guesswork? How could scientific thinking improve it?

Describe one situation where an approximate answer is good enough, and one where you would need a very exact value.

Choose a real-life object (like a pressure cooker or mobile phone) or a problem (like a traffic jam near school). Sketch which branches of science are involved — physics, chemistry, biology, earth science, or mathematics — and how at least two connect.
